Mr David Allison Accountants Office
Sir January 27th 1797
Your accounts have been a long time suspended for want of vouchers which you promised to furnish, as this has never been done, I have to request that you will as early as possible attend to the settlement of them, that they may be entered to your credit on the Books of this Office and the Ballance refunded by you to the Treasurer of the United States—
The necessity of this measure will appear obvious to you when you take into view the length of time since you received the money and I expect you will therefore attend thereto as early as possible—
I am &c.
