To the Honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America The Petition of Michael Van Kluck Humbly Sheweth That your petitioner was a Matross in the American War under the command of Col. Lamb in the Second Regiment of New York Artillery. That he has never received any Compensation for his Services, and on application at the War Office is informed that certain Certificates have been issued in his Name and placed in the hands of William Stevens Agent to Said Regiment (who is said to have absconded) Your petitioner therefore being deprived of every means to obtain what he conceives to be his just right, Prays your Honorable grant him Such relief as may in their Wisdom most be meet.
