Sheweth
That your Petitioner's said Husband faithfully served the United States was taken a Prisoner at Fort Stanwix and remained a Prisoner till near the conclusion of the War when he was exchanged and died— That your Petitioner Administered and has applied for a Settlement of his Accounts; that she hath not yet received the Land which by the Bounty of [undecipherable] her said Husband was entitled to and is now told that she must now apply to the Honorable Congress for the same: and therefore humbly prays that Congress will be pleased to grant, and I see that one may receive the Land intended by the Bounty aforesaid for her said Husband Services as a Soldier in the Army of the United States— And as in duty bound &c

Humbly Sheweth
That your petitioner was a [undecipherable: Matross?] in the American War under the command of Col. Lamb in the Second Regiment of New York Artillery. That he has never received any Compensation for his Services, and on application at the [undecipherable] Office is informed that certain Certificates have been issued in his Name and placed in the hands of William [undecipherable: Stevens?] Agent to said Regiment (who is [undecipherable: said] to have absconded). Your petitioner therefore [undecipherable] deprived of every means to obtain what he conceives to be his just right, Prays your Honors to grant him such relief as may in their Wisdom may be meet.
