Your kind favor of the 17th was handed me just this evening, and I have not since had an opportunity of seeing my Uncle James — tho' he is in Town, and will not leave this for a week or two — I am satisfied he would accept the appointment you mentioned should the Resident think proper to approbate the nomination. — Of his Capacity it would not be delicate for me to say any thing —
