the Rec't Roll of yourself, Lt. Daniel Bissell and the Recruits under
your command for November 1796, which has been examined and the
amount thereof will be entered to your Credit on the Books of this Office.

will be forwarded the first
opportunity.

I received your letter of the 19th and enclosing a
new Bill of Captain Gambles in favor of Dennis Shean, for Balance of Bounty.
On examination of the sum paid on the due Bill, the Indorsement appears
to have been Five Dollars paid & it has been altered to Two Dollars.
I recollect the Claimant applying to this Office & I refused him any
satisfaction, as the alteration appeared obvious with an Intention of Fraud.
It will however with the other Claims be laid before the Administrators
