Sir
I have recd your letter of the 10th Instant. The amount of the Pay Roll for December and Subsistence Account have been examined and the amount as you state found just, being Twelve hundred and seventeen Dollars and thirty four Cents which sum you will receive from Nicholas Fish Esqr as usual and give him the necessary Receipts.
The amount of the two Accounts enclosed in your letter for the Apprehension of James Mackadue ten Dollars & seventeen Cents you will please to pay out of the unappropriated monies in your hands. —
As regards the bringing of the Money from New York to West Point I should be glad to have a statement of the monies necessary to be expended on the occasion by any Officer who is ordered there for the purpose, from this it will be determined whether any increase for expences is necessary.
