Sir, As there are Accompts in your Office which will authorise considerable credits to be passed to Edward Carrington Esq^r Agent for Military supplies in the State of Virginia and the monies out of which the Expenditures (for which he will be entitled to such credits) were made, having been advanced from, and charged to him on the Books of the Treasury; it has been determined to close his Accompt on [strikethrough: the] Books as Agent aforesaid, for the sum of eleven thousand eight hundred and six dollars, and eighty three cents, in order that the same may be transferred to his debit on the Books of your Office, where the expenditure thereof is to be exhibited. I transmit herewith the Registers certificate, shewing that the Accompt aforesaid has been closed, and have to request that you will cause such entries to be made to bring the aforesaid sum to the debit of the said Edward Carrington as the nature of the transaction shall appear to require— I am Sir very respectfully Your Ob^t Servant.
