Capt Staats Morris Whetstone Point Baltimore Accountant's Office Jan.^y 12.^th 1797 Sir I rec^d your Letter of the 6^th inst. enclosing the Rect. Rolls of your Company for Oct.^r & Nov.^r; and Muster & Pay Rolls for Dec.^r 1796. — The Rect. Rolls have been examined, and the sum of four hundred six Dollars & seventy one Cents will be entered to your Credit on the Books of this Office, leaving a Balance on that head of Eighteen Dollars unaccounted for. — The Pay Roll has also been examined and (after deducting therefrom the Pay of Rob.^t Dean, W.^m Kirsley, Jn.^o Sullivan, & Jn.^o Hutchinson, privates confined for Desertion; and John Alexander, Drummer, taken by Civil Authority) amounts to two hundred & ninety nine Dollars, which sum, you will receive from John Kilty Esq.^r Sup.^t Baltimore on giving him Duplicate Rec.^ts therefor.
