O. 401310 Colo Samuel Hodgdon Philadelphia Whetstone Decr 19th 1796 Sir Your letter of the 9th Inst covering an Invoice of the Articles sent forward for the use of my Company was received by me at Fort Mifflin, as also the articles specified therein, leaving a deficiency however on the order, that I hope may be supplied without loss of time, as the men, except in a few instances have only one pair of woolen overals each. Enclosed I transmit an account, with the vouchers for the contingent expence of my march, which if found without error, I would thank you to direct to be paid to me as soon as convenient. Enclosed also is my receipt for the clothing &c. I would beg leave to request you would embrace the first conveyance [to] send me the deficiency of the order for clot[hing] as it is impossible that the men can keep themselves either clean or comfortable without a change.
