Sir
I recd your letter of the 12th inst enclosing a Pay Roll of Capt Crawford's Company & on account of Lt Colo Thomas Brother's for Pay & Forage, which have been examined & the amount passed to your credit. On the subject of the pay of the Troops on the upper Posts of the Ohio, I have conversed with the Secy of War, on account of the press of Business depending it cannot be attended to by this days post. By the next however you may expect a remittance. — I would in the mean time observe, that it is a long time since you have forwarded a Statement of your Payments — you will prepare to forward one which will include all the payments in the present year which may be enclosed after your receipt of the remittance by the next Post and the Payments made therewith.
