I recd your letter of the 15th Oct. enclosing a draft for one hundred dollars, drawn on me by Major Roberts on account of his Pay — This sum having been credited by him in the settlement of his Accounts at this Office. A Warrant has issued in your favor for that sum; you will accordingly receive by this day's Post from S. Lewis a Clerk in the War Office a Post Note for the amount — you will on receipt thereof, forward your receipt to him for the same, he being held accountable for the transmission to you, and your receipt is necessary for his exoneration.
