Portsmouth New Hamp^re Dec^r 6^th 1796 Sir— I have delivered James Hackett Const^r of the Frigate building for the Medⁿ service, Sundry timber, plank &c, by order of Jacob Sheafe Esq^r Naval Agent, to whom M^r Hackett has given his receipt; an account of which I have entered in my day book only, supposing you would chuse to direct the form for keeping the account, I have not yet made a further entry & shall wait to know your pleasure respecting it— The Naval Agent is in daily expectation of a vessel from Boston, to receive timber &c for the Frigate at that place, which by his order, I am to deliver & shall make you acquainted with the amount in due time— I am Sir Respectfully Your Obed^t Servant Edmund H.
