Pittsburg November 25^th 1796. Sir Your letter of the 18^th inst^s enclosing one thousand dollars in post notes is come to hand. An unfortunate blunder, made by some of the Post Masters by which the Mail from Phil^a of the 11^th instant was returned to Pittsburg — you will have received my letter of the 11^th inst by same post. to this former of which I hope you have in particular paid attention. My letter of the 11^th intimated to you that there was then in the Hands of Gen [undecipherable: Nevill] a considerable sum of money subject to the order of the Secretary of the Treasury and that sum is [undecipherable: still] [undecipherable: encreasing] by the Sale of the seven Ranges of Townships — this money consists of principally dollars which the Gen^t wishes to have drawn out of his hands.
