Detachment, Muster & Pay Rolls, as well as Rect Rolls I now inclose to you — The detachment under the command of Lieut Rowan at Fort Oswego, he has received & forwarded the Rolls to this Office, which have been examined & the money forwarded to complete their Pay for the present year to Dr Voschez who has directions to pay that as well as his own detachment for the Sett period. When a safe opportunity offers, it would be well to forward your account & Vouchers from time to time, that I may know the State thereof.
Your letter of the 20th Sept I laid before the Secy of War as you requested, who has informed me, that he would attend thereto.
This as well as the money goes by Post to Israel Chapin at Canandaigua, who is directed to forward it by a confidential Person [strikethrough: as] Express immediately to you, the Expences of which you will pay, taking the necessary Vouchers to entitle you to a credit for the same — It has been found more convenient
