I recd your letter of the 11th Inst. accompanied by the Pay Muster & Receipt Rolls therein mentioned, which will be placed under examination, and information given you of the result. The Account of Serjt Easton cannot be all allowed. The uniform Rule of settling those accounts here is, that no Soldier be allowed a premium for apprehending another of his expenses be paid by the United States: The premium must therefore be deducted, and the expenses only allowed — for which purpose, I return you the Account. — Herewith you have Blank Muster Rolls agreeably to your request.
