On the other side you have a duplicate of my letter of the 6th Octr since which I have received your Muster & Pay Rolls for the months of Septr & Octr 1796, which on examination amount to Three hundred forty nine Dollars & 29/100, which sum you will receive from David Henley &c on giving your Receipts for the due application thereof, and disburse the same agreeably to the enclosed receipt Roll, which you will forward to this Office, as soon as you have completed the payments. — the amount paid will on receipt thereof here be entered to your Credit on the Books of this Office.

I have taken an opportunity when the Secretary of War was not much engaged to present your Letter to him, he has perused it, and will give you the necessary information relating thereto. —
Time will not admit of my examining your Muster & Pay Rolls: it will however take place in time, for the next opportunity to your place, when the money will be forwarded as you direct.
