                                                                    : Acct Capt Alexander Gibson                           Accountants Office Staunton Virginia                                 Nov. 25^th 1796 Sir I have recd your letter of the 6^th Inst — In the instance of Christian fordis pay, I have pursued the same mode as in all instances of the like kind. Your Muster & Pay Roll to the 31^st Oct^r have been examined, and the amount being 488⁷⁶/₁₀₀ ( after deducting your pay to be settled on Personal Account ) has been placed in the hands of Capt John Wade who will proceed shortly to your place to take command of your Recruits, and pay them before they march. — Herewith I enclose to you a Copy of your account Current as settled at this Office, and a Statement of Differences arising on the examination of that furnished by you, by which a Balance appears due to the United States of six hundred, seventy Dollars ³⁶/₁₀₀.            I am &c                                                                               W^m Simmons                                                                                  Acct George Fleming Esq^r                                Accountants Office West Point — New York                          Nov. 25. 1796 Sir Herewith you will receive a Copy of your account Current, and Statement of Differences, as it has been settled at this Office, the Balance you will thereby perceive due to the United States amounts to five thousand & eighty one Dollars ⁸²/₁₀₀ after allowing your Salary from 1^st July 1795 to 30^th Sept 1796.
