Pittsburg November 21^st 1796 Col. Lewis leaves last night with despatches from the Commander in chief at Detroit to the Secretary of War for order to enable him to proceed. Have furnished him with one of the Horses intrusted to me by Cap. Turner together with a pair of Pistols & Holsters all of which he is to deliver to you in Phil^a per his receipt endorsed. On the 18^th I gave a draft on you in favor of George Stevenson for 500 Dollars at 8 days sight, but being much hurried on the past day I neglected to advise you of it. And on the 19^th I drew on you in favor of Mr. Edward Magauran for 500 Dollars at 8 days sight — Both of these drafts you will be pleased to pay &charge as usual.
