I recd your letter of the 1st inst enclosing the receipt Rolls of your Company for July & Augt 1796, which will be carried to your Credit on the Books of this Office, and Payr Muster Rolls for Sept & Octr 1796, together with Michael Uptons Discharge.
The pay Rolls has been examined & after deducting Fredk Balcho's Pay & Forage, and Patrick Divan deceased amounts to Dollars [undecipherable] hundred forty & 22/100, which sum you will receive from Daniel Stevens Supt Charleston on giving him duplicate receipts for the due application thereof, and disburse the same agreeably to the enclosed receipt Roll.
You will also receive from Daniel Stevens Esqr a further sum of Eighteen Dollrs & 22/100, which you will please to pay to Michael Upton, being for his Pay, as late Serjt in Capt Wm Millea's Company from 1st June to 19th Augt 1796, the date of his discharge; and for which he will sign the enclosed receipt, which you will forward to this Office together with the next Roll of your Company that both may be passed to your Credit accordingly.
