The pay Roll of your Detachment to the 31st Octr 1796. has been examined and after deducting,
Thomas Edwards's pay for Augt — 4 — paid him at West Point.

Amounts to One hundred forty six Dollars, which sum you will receive from John Kilty Esqr. Supt Baltimore on giving him duplicate receipts therefor, & disburse the same agreeably to the enclosed rect Roll.
You will be pleased in future to be as correct as possible in making out the pay Roll, and instead of inserting the dates of Inlistments, and ending of Service insert the day their pay is to commence, & in the next column the day to which the Pay is calculated. If the United States have been at any expence in apprehending William Forbes — let the amount be deducted from his pay, and only pay him the Balance.
