lettres Blockhauge 10th Novr. 1796.
Sir,
Your Letter of August 10th, inclosing an Invoice of Goods, I has not the pleasure to receive title yesterday— Invoices of the goods sent me by the return of Colo. Hendays, Troops, and Pickthings [undecipherable], were not reached but a few days previous to yours— From the date of Mr. Hendays Letters, I am led to attribute this unfortunate delay to the neglect of some one of the Post Offices— Not having the Cost of the goods to convene me, rendered my situation truely disagreeable— Could the Invoices in future come with the goods, it would prevent a similar misfortune— I am happy in acknowledging the favour, done me, by forwarding me the Invoice.
I am Sir
with respect
your most
Servt.
Samuel Hodgdon Esquire. James Byers
