West Point Novb 10 - 179[4] Sir Major Theming requested me to give some exhlanation to you respecting an account I rendered to him for expence incurred in the pursuit of Deserters. I can only observe that in the Summer of ninety five days towards the Commanding Officer here ordered me on the pursuit of Deserters from my company. I was accompanied by a Serjeant & three privates.
