Jasper Hopper's certificate] I Jasper Hopper a Public Notary for the State of New York residing in the City of New York Do Certify that M^r William Simmons of the City of Philadelphia has exhibited to me the four following Certificates which he suspects to have been forged or Counterfeited, to wit, a Certificate dated the fifteenth day of July One thousand seven hundred and ninety six endorsed on a power of Attorney from Albert Bloom to John Brady which I have marked with the letter B, a Certificate dated the first day of July One thousand seven hundred and ninety six endorsed on a power of Attorney from John Cargill to John Brady which I have marked with the letter I, a Certificate dated the seventh day of July One thousand seven hundred and ninety six endorsed on a power of Attorney from Peter Burnes to John Brady which I have marked with the letter K and a Certificate dated the first day of July One thousand seven hundred and ninety six endorsed on a power of Attorney from Isaac Danielson to John Brady which I have marked with the letter L, That the same so far as relates to the Signature and Seal are of my proper hand Writing and seal of Office, but that the Body of the said Certificates is not of my hand writing nor do I know any thing of the facts therein contained, And I am well convinced that I never signed the same Certificates or either of them as now exhibited to me — And I do further Certify that the said M^r William Simmons has also presented to me two other Certificates which are Genuine, to wit a Certificate endorsed on a power of Attorney from Thomas Hutchinson and Philip Francis to Joseph Wharton which I have marked with the letter N, and a Certificate endorsed on a power of Attorney from Ebenezer Gilbert and Pope Gilbert to William A. Blair which I have marked with the letter O, both of them dated 27^th day of September A D 1796 and both of them purporting that John Campbell Esquire is one of the Aldermen in and for the City of New York &.
