I am &c W^m Simmons acc^t Nicholas Fish, Esq^r Accountants Office Sup^t New York Nov. 7^th 1796 Sir The Treasurer of the United States will remit you the sum of Forty eight Dollars being for the Bounty & Premium of three Recruits, which you will please to pay to Cap^t Staats Morris of the Corps of Artillerists & Engineers, and take his Receipts for the same. I have admitted the Premium, but should he desert before mustered, it will be deducted from a future settlement. Agreeably to your request the amount has been transmitted to Nicholas Fish Esq^t Supervisor of New York and on the receipt of the same you will please sign duplicate receipts I am &c Peter Hagner Princ.
