Pittsburg 29^th October 1796 Sir On the 18 ins^t: in order to accomodate M^r John Garden of Phil^a: I drew on you in his favor for 500 Dollars payable Eight days after Sight which be pleased to pay & charge as usual Doctor Pfeiffer has paid 60 80/100 dollars for transportation & the extra Stores – which sum I have placed to your credit – Your letter of the 8^th instant was handed me by M^r Peter Barries to whom I have and shall pay attention – Gen Wilkerson is just arrived on his way to Phil^a: Cap John Heth is expected this day also on his way to Phil^a: having a number of Indians Chiefs in Charge – This party I have to equip & mount on Horse back – the Horses I presume will be returned – Capt Shaumburgh sent forward by the Gen: has been furnished with a Horse his receipt for which is inclosed being accountable to you for Delivery: Davis Buchanan's Receipt for 20 Dollars is also inclosed that sum is to be charged to James Hamilton, Waggoner, and places to my credit, it being [undecipherable] to M^r [undecipherable] his Waggon as will appear on the Receipt for his Loading – You will also find enclosed a list of a number of Lots in the intended Town of Erie and out Lots adjoining which have been purchased by Alexander Power who has offered them to Doct: George Balfour who has proposed to me and some of my friends to join him in the purchase.
