The inclosed Claims were forwarded to me by Capt Staats Morris from the Men of his Company, those who have any thing due are noted on the Statement — there are two men who hold up Claims for Arrearage of Pay and Bounty, they were inlisted by Capt Lee, I can therefore not discover the justice of them in any other way than causing them to be sworn to — which you will have done before you pay them. — These Claims you will pay out of the unappropriated Monies in your hands, and take their receipts thereon.
