L.F.O.401810] Pittsburg 7^th October 1796 Sir I have received your letter of the 30^th ultimo together with the packet of News papers. With respect to Evidences of Stores, public property being at Fort Cumberland, Gen Nevill and others who came over the Mountains with the Militia Army say that at the time the Army advanced to Fort Cumberland by want of Waggons to transport Provisions — several that carried Military Stores were unloaded at that place & loaded from thence with Provisions, their former loads were therefore deposited at that place & it is presumed are still there. The distance from Pittsburg to Fort Cumberland is 110 Miles Major John Lynn of that place is a proper person to make Enquiry & give full information on this subject. I shall again call upon Doctor Pfeffer — He is a few days to descend the Ohio but will settle that account before he goes. You will find enclosed Lieut. John Belhemus's Draft at sight on Wm Simmons for thirty two dollars which you will be so obliging as to present for Payment and when paid pass the amount to my Credit. — You have not informed me of the fate of my Claim for extra Services: I am thus importunate with you from my apprehension that by some changes in the Ministry that may take place by the presents declining my Claim may at last be neglected and finally lost.
