Sir, I inclose you my Account Current with the United States of [undecipherable] [undecipherable], by which there appears to be in my hands a balance of Three Hundred, only six Dollars and Thirty Three Cents and a half. Forty three vouchers for payment, including here [undecipherable], are referred to in this Account Current and therewith transmitted to you. I send you also a Statement of pay [undecipherable] to Absentees from West Point on the 4^th of May; and Lieutenant Muhlenburg [undecipherable] was to Captain Rye and Philip Rodrigues to Major [undecipherable] [undecipherable] their respective days for June 1795. In answer to your letter of the 27^th of September, I am bold [to] observe, that I have abided [by] the same sum to the establishment under Captain Littlefield, as you have forwarded to Albany, with the difference that [undecipherable] Pill and M'[undecipherable], took the places and pay of the Serjeants [undecipherable] at Morrison. The debt, which the men owe here, and the [undecipherable] of the Commissar[in]t and Cap^t Littlefield induced me to take this step; the [undecipherable] also informed me they could not move without their pay. The pay for April was [issued] to the Corps while [those] on furlough. Those who were then also absent, and who have since [returned] have made application to me for their respective dues, and as I had not a Money [undecipherable] to satisfy their [undecipherable], I placed them on the pay roll for your examination.
