I have just received a letter by which I am informed, that you had declined taking charge of any thing more, for me. I am extremely sorry to have so far surpassed the limits, prescribed by custom, with respect to stores — but I intreat you, Sir, to receive the small parcels that are now to be sent — I will most chearfully pay the carriage for them, as well as for every thing else that you may hereafter be pleased to take charge of for me — The chief reason of my anxiety to have them conveyed by the public waggons is that I shall soon go farther to the Westward, and should find it very difficult to get possession of any goods that might be sent to this place by a private conveyance I have the honor to be with the greatest respect, Sir, Your Most Obedient Humble Servant George Pfeiffer Major Hodgdon —
