M.r Samuel Lewis Sen.r Clerk in the War Office will remit you the sum of Four hundred eighty seven Dollars and ninety cents being for the pay of a Detach.t of Artillery & Infantry under the Command of Capt. W.m Littlefield to the 31.st of August 1796 inclusive, for which sum you will please to send forward duplicate receipts to be accountable & disburse the same agreeably to the enclosed receipt Rolls; should there be any men included that have not marched with the Detachment you will please to note them on the receipt Rolls to be transmitted to this Office immediately after paying those present that the amount paid by you may pass to your Credit.
