The utmost dispatch is necessary in obtaining this money and in making the payments to the Troops, so as to be in time agreeably to the act of Congress [undecipherable] mentioned to you on this subject. Mr. Stevens is directed to inform you immediately, on the receipt thereof, that no time may be lost after he receives it. In the mean time as your Estimates arrive here, remittances will be made as you may direct.
The blank Muster & Pay Rolls mentioned by you to be so much wanted are by this opportunity forwarded to Coll.o Gaither at St. Mary's.

Hunter — they have been examined and the amount found due his Estate (exclusive of Subsistence which I cannot ascertain) is Three hundred & seventy eight Dollars & thirteen Cents
