Accountants Office — Sept^r 12. 1796 I have rec^d yours of the 20^th ulto and should be happy to comply with the request contained therein by transmitting half your pay monthly to Boston as it became due, but this mode of payment will be attended with such difficulty, that I could wish if possible might be avoided. you must be sensible of the trouble it gives the office the making of partial payments to be deducted from the Company Pay Rolls; —I, notwithstanding, should have no objection if it would be serving you to pay the whole amount of your monthly pay as it becomes due to your order in Boston, for any number of months you relinquish it and not have your pay included in the pay rolls for the same period.
