Foward Goods for the Six Nations to Israel Chapin
Document 1796The Secretary of War has directed Hodgdon to send the goods intended for the Six Nations [of Indians] to Mr. Houdin who should then designate someone to deliver them to Israel Chapin. Houdin is also directed to forward the following to Chapin: 500 weight of the best musket or rifle powder, 1000 weight of lead, and 2000 flints.
