The Secretary of War has directed me to acknowledge the Receipt of your letter of this day and to inform you that it is his wish that you send on the goods for the six Nations to Mr Houdin and request him to send some person to take charge of them and deliver them to Mr Chapin —
You will please also to direct Captain Houdin to have forwarded at the same time the five hundred weight of best Muskets a Rifle powder one thousand weight of lead and two thousand flints which by a letter from the War Office dated June 14 1794 he was requested to deliver [strikethrough: [undecipherable]] to Israel Chapin Junr and which Mr Chapin says is yet in his possession
