St. 39 Cont. amt, mg; 10 mg o Engr, ec.] List Agent's Office Wardepartment Charltn 27^th August 1796 Agreeably to my notification to you I have now the honor of transmitting you my Account Current with the War department of monies remitted me from the Treasury for the half year ending 30^th June 1796 — you will please to observe there appears in my Account Current a balance in my hands of 1292^75/100 Dollars this with amount of my Commissions of 307^25/100 Dollars make the Sum of 1600 Dollars which Sum in fact is now in my hands, being the same remitted me to be paid to Constant Freeman (awd) in Georgia, to whom I have sent a duplicate letter that I hope that Sum in my hands ready to be paid to his order, but as yet have not heard from him, — I therefore was obliged to detain the balance in the manner you will please — I am Sir Very Respectfully Your most Ob.
