Navy Yard Boston, August 18^th 1795 Sir I received yours of the 5^th inst. and was not disappointed when you informed me that every little Live Oak suitable in this frigate could be collected from Portsmouth, We have not one Stick of live Oak to work, have discharged one Quarter of our men for want of timber to work on. I have received some days past a letter directed to you, one Care to you, which I have directed to the Care of M^r [undecipherable] which I hope you have received — I have since received a letter from the Secretary [undecipherable] dated August 10^th [undecipherable] also they have received another from his Honor with one enclosed to you; but to my disappointment not the least hint [undecipherable] to the time [undecipherable] that we are now in want of — Three days past Mass.
