No. 45. aug. 8
ans. 9]
West Point Aug. 1. 1796
Sir,
Mr Bayners letters dated the 16th 20 of July ultimo I have received.
Mr [undecipherable] Francis has directed me to send you Law for the 109 dollars 46 cents, to send to [undecipherable] to pay for the articles he purchased for Co + Bruffe's detachment which money I have accordingly drawn for.
The Serjeant (Brashinger) of Cpt Cockfields company would not receive his May pay, because five or six months pay, he says is due to him, was not sent with it— he still refuses receiving said May pay. I shall send my duplicate receipts to Col. Biol for the 4000 dolls by the first proper opportunity.
I enclose you the detachment for the services of the ordnance departments receipt rolls for their May pay, amount 77 dollars 46 cents— also a pay roll for their June pay: Col. Montges promise used to forward the muster roll this pay roll be longs to. I have not yet been able to get all the artillerists to receive their pay! —
I am Sir,
Your most obedient
humble servant,
Geo Fleming
