Sir!
Agreeably to what I wrote you in the 30th Ulto I now enclose you a Statement of the Deficiencies in your vouchers which after crediting you with those lately Forwarded amounts to 706 [undecipherable] Drs. exclusive of the 2750 Dollars which you say was paid to the Ohio Company — Part of the 1st sum you will observe arises from charges brought against you by Capt. Daniel Britt who since you were here placed the money in your hands for the purpose of paying the Individuals, and for which you have never yet forwarded Receipts — As regards the 2750 Drs. I have agreeably to Directions from the Sect. of Treasury & War made out Copies of all the Pay Roll & Subsistence abstracts on which it was received by Mr Cleer — and shall forward them by this post to Judge Putnam for his Certificate to be annexed thereto setting forth that he knew the payments made to each Individual whose name is therein mentioned. If the Certificate shall appear to the Accounting Officers to be aural here sufficient, the amount will be passed to your Credit.
Among the receipts last forwarded by you there appears one of Js. LeCleray for his pay from 15 March 1792 to 10 Novr. which I now return to you it being of no use here, as the Rect. for the Pay of that Soldier which is wanting, is for Service from 1st Decr. 1792 to Janry. 31 Octr. 1793.
In absence of The Accountant
