York July 27^th 1796 Dear Sir I yesterday received a letter for you enclosed in mine from the Secretary — I called to give it you but found you had set off on the stage — the Sloop has agreed to give me the sum I asked for the present your doings you will give me directions how to proceed to what I shall have to do I therefore take the earliest opportunity of conveying your letter to Boston & beg you will give me the necessary orders as soon as possible — I remain as your friend &c M.^r Josiah Fox Sincd Norman Cheesman
