I received your letter of the 30th ulto — in answer to which I have to inform you that Captain Millers recruits have been paid by him up to the 1st of May before he marched them to West Point — If he has made any further payments information must be obtained from him — you will therefore please muster the men and make out a pay roll agreeably thereto, and if on examination here any errors should be discerned they will be rectified before the money is remitted — Major Peters recd the Balance of your pay & Subs from 1st Feby to 30th June 1796 incl. agreeably to your order which after deducting the advance you received amounted to one hundred & thirty two Dollars.
