Sir,
Received your letter of the 14th Instant enclosing two Receipts for Militia Services which shall be placed with those transmitted in a former letter
The Clerk who was engaged on the Settlement of your Account when you were in this City has within a few days past left the office which prevents me giving you the information you request by this days post; By the next Post you may expect it altho it is contrary to the rules of office — If you had kept your Accounts in regular Order there would be no necessity for the application — I think you received the information when you were here however not to prevent the settlement of your long standing Account I will transmit you the information required
