[Letter from Samuel [undecipherable: Hodgdon?] 21 July 1796] M^r Daniel Haragan Deputy Quarter Master General with the Army — [seal] [seal] Philad^a 21^st July 1796 — Sir It is at length determined that the late Quarter Master General's accounts shall be made up to the first of April last, and all concerned are to govern themselves accordingly — The Auditor particularly requested me to write you on the subject and [strikethrough: to request] your Accounts of Disbursements to that time may be sent in Immediately — All Monies received in the Department [strikethrough: to that] Period is charged to Colonel O'Hara — I shall accordingly debit him in my general Statement with your Drafts and the Monies forwarded to you to that time — — I mention it that your Accounts may conform thereto — After the first of April all Monies you have received of or may receive of me, will be placed to my Credit, as I shall be accountable for all Monies drawn by me in the Quarter Master's Department after that time and until such further time as occasion may require, of which you will have notice — If your Accounts under the Administration of Colonel O'Hara are not on the way at the Time this reaches — your next Quarter may accompany them made up as above directed — Viz^t from the first of April to the first instant — — I am Sir, Your most Ob^dt Servant Samuel Hodgdon M^r Daniel Haragan
