from the Treasurer of the United States to you of three hundred and thirty four Dollars and ²⁰/100 to be by you paid to Cap^t — Sam^l Nicholson of the Frigate building at Boston being for his Pay and Subsistence from 1^st April to 30 June 1796 which Sum you will accordingly pay him taking his Duplicate Receipts one of which you will please to forward to this Office, As you may be unacquainted (from your late appointment) of the Compensation allowed to Supervisors for transacting business of this Nature for the War departments. I enclose you the Copy of a circular letter, Dated 12 June 1796 to Supervisors on this subject for your Information.
