As you may be unacquainted [from your late appointment] of the Compensation allowed to Supervisors for transacting business of this Nation for the War department. I enclose you the Copy of a Circular letter dated 18 June 1794 to Supervisors on this Subject for your Information. Your account for Compensation, agreeably to this letter is to be forwarded once in each quarter to this Office where it will receive an examination will takes place and the amount remitted to you.
