examined amounting to one hundred & twelve Dollars which sum you will receive from Nicholas Fish Esq^r & for which you will give him duplicate Rec^ts to be accountable for the Disbursement thereof agreeable to the enclosed Rec^d Bills. — I inclose you Blank Muster Pay & Rec^d Rolls, & in future you will please make out your own Rec^d Rolls In answer to your question I have to inform you that the Contractor is not obliged to furnish you with money instead of your rations; If you dont wish to draw your rations you will receive pay therefor at the contract price from this Office, by stating your account and forwarding the Certificate of the Contractor, of the place where you are, that you drew no rations for the Periods charged. — As regards the furnishing of wood, it does not properly come before this Office, but I would suppose that if the contract does not set forth that the Contractor is to furnish wood it of course becomes his duty so to do.
