R.P.O 401310.] Fort Johnston July the 5 1796 Sir I here herein inclosed, you a return of ordnance Stores at this post, also a return of cloathing both for the months of June and July. on my former letter the ninth of May 1796. I acquainted you with the want of cloathing for the Soldiers under my Command — which you may see by the returns I have sent you. and by the one I now send you. Coats. Vests. Hats. Linen Overalls are much wanted — the Soldiers haveing none. but old wollen rags to put on this hot weather. which causes great murmering and discontent. The two brass field pieces are also much wanted here for the use of the company. I hope you will send them by the first opportunity — (if not already sent) none can be got here —.
