I have sent my duplicate receipts to Jn^o Trish, dated the 2[undecipherable] ultimo, for seventy one dollars & 6 cents, for the hay pay of the ordnance detachment — and have forwarded to him my duplicate receipts, dated the 30 ultimo, for two thousand three hundred of thirty six dollars, with a draft on him for the money, by Captain Edward Miller of the Legion, whom Col. Rochefontaine appointed to go for said money; being the hay pay & forage of the corps of Artillerists & Engineers. I also sent to Jn^o Trish, by Captain Miller, my duplicate receipts dated the 30 ultimo, for the one hundred & fifty four dollars, with a draft, said money in his favor, to reimburse the money I advanced to Captain Duff & other Officers the 7 instant, for their hay pay. The instructions contained in your favor of the 25 ultimo I will particularly attend to. I enclose you vouchers & a summary of them, amount eighteen hundred and fifty dollars & 69 cents — the summary dated this day. I also enclose you George Parrott's account, a soldier in the Artillerists & Engineers, for making a coat for for an artillerist — please to let me know if I am to pay him. The 20 ultimo I sent vouchers for firewood to the Auditor of the Treasury of the United States, amount two hundred and nineteen dollars & 13 cents, which added to the total amount in the summary, makes two thousand and seventy dollars & 42 cents.
