I have this moment received a letter from Gen Lewis for enclosing 3390 dollars for Pay forage Subsistence of the Troops at the upper posts for March April & May 1796 and for which sum agreeable to Mr Lewis's request I have enclosed a Receipt and which I have to request may be handed to him — Gen Wayne set off from this post at 2 oClock P.M. on the 29th Ultimo for Fort Washington — He expected that all the Indian Goods wou'd have arrived at this post in time to have reached Greenville before his arrival at that place a small part of these Articles only have reached this place —
Gen Wilkins the present Dekt. I. set off this day for Hunter Hunters on board a light Boat — Gen Wayne has ordered a tree House Block house to be erected at Fort le Bœuf and has for the purpose and to repair the road from le Bœuf to Presque Isle sent Col. Butler with a detachment of thirty men from the Garrison of Fort Fayette — To that Business he has requested me to pay the necessary attention — I am therefore in a few days to set off for le Bœuf in order to forward the [undecipherable] &c —
The two packets under cover to you Sir, are addressed to Sam. Hodgson contain Musters of officers in the line of [undecipherable] be pleased to order them to be delivered as usual —
