I received your letters of the 22d & 25 Inst. the former enclosing accounts and vouchers which will be placed under examination & the amount properly will be passed to your Credit — The latter enclosing a list of Retained bounties due to the Men enlisted by you — The names of all of them except Job Harrington, I can find on your Recruiting Accounts — the amount of the list being One hundred and Seventy Six Dollars you will receive from George Fleming & proceed to make the payments transmitting the Receipts of the Men here for your exoneration — You will please to explain why Harrington is not included on the Recruiting account.
Being informed by Major Peters & Piersey that You would prefer going on to the Army to Returning to Middletown, I have consulted with the Secretary of War — and he will write you on the Subject by this days post
