In the pay Role of Capt Bissells detachment for the above payment as well as that for January & February — I observe that D^r Balfour is made up for his pay & forage & for the latter periods it appears by the Receipt Role sent forwards by Capt Bissells that he has actually received it altho he has relinquished the same to be paid in this City for the use of his wife which I have accordingly done. I have therefore to Request that you will stop making any further payments for him until further Directions I have notwithstanding this admitted the whole amount of Capt Bissells Role to your credit as the Muster Roles do not shew that he has relinquished his pay. The amount of Ensign Thompsons for expences I have suspended entering as there are no vouchers accompanying it They must be forwarded before it can be examined.
