War office 27 June 1796 Sir Captn Lewis arrived this evening from Quebec with Lord Dorchesters orders (Which I here inclose) to the officers commanding at the posts of Fort Miami, Detroit and Michilimackinac for their evacuation.
You will be pleased to transmit to the Secretary of war a duplicate statement of the nature and condition of the works and buildings to be delivered us signed by the officers who may receive them, with such [word crossed out] additional remarks as he may make respecting them. With great respect I have the honor to be Sir your most obdt James McHenry Secy. of war.
